Athento has an exit plan for customers who do not wish to continue using the cloud service. These customers will be able to dispose of their documents under various scenarios described below:
Output options
1. Change to on-premise modality
The customer who wishes to continue working with Athento but migrate his cloud installation to a local installation, should request an estimate of services to the Athento team that should carry out this work.
Migration costs will depend on several factors:
- Size of instance(s)
- External services integrated with Athento
- Available access to the customer's infrastructure, etc.
Migration will mean making an identical copy of the cloud instance to the customer's technical infrastructure, this means that any other changes (version upgrade, etc.) will have to be estimated independently. The customer must ensure that the necessary infrastructure is in place for the correct operation of the software.
In order to continue with Athento's support service, the customer will have to contract the corresponding annual support subscription.
2. Change of supplier
In the event of a change of supplier, Athento provides the client with the following mechanisms for the export of their documents.
A) ECM API Migration (Recommended)
This is the easiest way to do the export in the format needed by any customer. Use the API to search the documents to be exported, use pagination to move to other documents and download documents and metadata.
Please, see the course of the API at https://athento.teachable.com/courses/enrolled/702243?preview=logged_in
B) Export to File Service
If a CMIS repository is not available, the documents and their metadata can be exported to a file system. The documents will be exported as files in the original format in which they were uploaded to the software and the metadata as CSV files. Athento's products offer options for customers to export their own content from the cloud.
Exit plan costs
The output plan will only involve costs when professional services from Athento's team are required. If the client extracts the documents and data by his own means (using the product's functionalities) he will not have to pay any extra fee.
Penalties
By default, there are no penalties for leaving the service, unless your contract with Athento so indicates.
Athento only requires a 60-day notice for service cancellation.
Professional services related to the exit plan should be estimated and planned.
