By default, Athento does not scan documents uploaded to the system for viruses. The platform prioritizes performance and speed so that users and applications can create documents quickly.
Remember also that the spaces give you the possibility to define what types of files can be uploaded to the platform.
If there is a special situation in which you have little control over what users upload, for example, when you receive documentation from external users, you can set up a space that functions as a quarantine space. In this space, you can activate the Scan for virus automation task.
On the server, enable the parameter "ENABLE_CHECK_ANTIVIRUS_PUBLIC_UPLOAD" = True
If the files in the quarantine space are clean, it is possible to configure the space to automatically move the documents to their final destination.
Other possibilities and safeguards of Athento that will help you prevent malware on your uploaded documents are:
- Document upload doesn't allow executable files such as bat, exe, sh, etc.
- You can also restrict the formats and sizes of documents. At the level of the server, there is always a size control to prevent certain types of attacks.
