Can Athento query an external database?

Yes, Athento can connect to an external database, as long as it is open to the internet. In case the database is a local installation and the database is not open to the internet, Athento will be able to make connections via VPN as long as the VPN provided is compatible with Ubuntu Server 18.04 - 64 bits or higher.

Athento's recommendation for faster, more secure and efficient integrations is for the client to expose web services that can be consumed by Athento.
